Our History

Our creator started crafting On May 29, 2018, and her passion was always making accessories.

Sleeping Vanessa (2018- 2023).
Like a few other California residents, our creator had many opportunities to visit Disneyland in Anaheim.

She was a Disney fan, and it was during a visit to the Disneyland amusement park that our store's previous name was created.

Miss. Tori Aurora had many names that she wanted to use before narrowing the store's name to her second favorite Disney Princesses and her all-time favorite Disney villain.

From there, she thought of a name that stirred clear from the Disney Company's names, and Sleeping Vanessa was born.
 
When the owner first told her family about the company's name, they thought it was after her cousin, who passed away in her 30s due to an unknown illness.

Sadly, they were incorrect.
 
However, their conversation brought Miss Aurora inspiration.

Our creator wasn't a fan of the shade of purple like her cousin Vanessa, but she wanted to give a small tribute to her cousin in the company. So, our creator decided to go with Vanessa's favorite shade of purple, indigo purple.
 
For six years, our creator had crafted under the name Sleeping Vanessa.

It is where she reinvented her shop from crochet products to sewing purses and wallets, created her first website, got her first weight scale for packaging products, gained knowledge from YouTubers, received her first sponsor, had her first viral TikTok based on the strawberry purse, and so much more. 

This chapter in our company ended in March 2023 after receiving a notice of someone trademarking the name.

A year later, our creator decided to go with the name she wanted to give her firstborn daughter.

Due to the name being close to her grandmother's name, she didn't know if it was the best course of action. But after a few weeks of thinking it over, Miss. Tori Aurora decided to go with her instincts and rename her store.

Our shop is now called Cecelia and pronounced as Se-Se-lee-a. 

The name is a tribute to her grandmother, Celia Uribe, from her father's extended family and the patron Saint of Music, Cecilia.
 
We still create our original product called The Flores Purse and so much more.

We hope you enjoy these products as we continue to grow and gain more knowledge to bring joy to our customers.
